Final Score : Claymores 8 - 16 Monarchs
For the first time in their history, the Scottish Claymores made the trip to London and failed to come away with a win. A demoralising game after their World Bowl aspirations were quenched the previous evening at the hands of Frankfurt, ironically the team they beat last week.
Game Summary :In a game the Scots really should have won, their oppoents drew first blood. Clive Allen kicked his first filed goal in World League football from 37 yards to give London a 3-0 lead in the first. London increased their advantage when Preston Jones combined with receiver Larry Stallworth for a 29 yard touchdown. The kick was good and the lead was 10. Clive Allen kicked another FG, this time from 28 yards to make the score 13-0 London at the half.
The third quarter was scoreless but once again it was Clive Allen in the fourth quarter - a field goal from 19 yards made it 16-zip London. Siran Stacy was on hand to save the Scots blushes when he made the endzone from 1 yard out. He added the two-point conversion himself to conlude the scoring at 16-8.
