Scottish Claymores @ Frankfurt Galaxy
Saturday 1 June, 1998

Final Score : Claymores 10 - 21 Galaxy

For the first time in league history, the Scottish Claymores emerged from Frankfurt's Waldstadion on the wrong end of the scoreline.

12 seconds from the end of the first quarter, Galaxy QB Damon Huard lofted a short pass. The result, a 63 yard touchdown catch by WR Mitchell Galloway showing all his skill as he eluded almost the entire Scottish defense. 7-0 Frankfurt.

Scotland responded in the second when Willy Tate hauled in a 14 yard pass from QB Jim Ballard in front of two Frankfurt defenders and the extra point by Gary Parker tied the game.

Parker gave the Scots the lead thanks to a 24 yard field goal mid way through the 3rd quarter but the offense appeared to give up and moving the ball became difficult.

It took until the 4th quarter for Frankfurt's offense to take advantage on an 8 yard pass to Jermaine Chaney from Damon Huard for a 14-10 lead.

Huard added to the lead himself late in the period on a 1 yard quarterback keeper to round out the scoring and giving Dick Curl's team the victory and in turn drop the Claymores to 2-7.
