Ken Simonton #24

Ken Simonton and his video camera - he tapes everything!
From Californ-i-a, comes our highly touted running back Ken Simonton. From Pittsburg, California, Simonton attended Oregon State where he started 34 of his first 35 games for the Beavers breaking numerous records along the way. He left OSU having rushed for 5,044 yards, 366 points and 26, 100 yard rushing games finishing with 1000 yards in his first three years at college and falling just short at 971 his senior year.

Ken finished 9th in the voting for the 2000 Heisman Trophy, the most coveted individual trophy in college football. He finished behind players like Michael Vick, Ladainian Tomlinson and Drew Brees.

While running the ball, Ken uses his size to keep low and under the line of scrimmage, out of sight for larger defenders. He thinks of his size as an advantage, using his quickness to evade attacking defenders.

His family has a history of baseball, in fact, Ken went to OSU with the intention of playing both football and baseball. His father, Ken Simonton II played for the Boston Red Sox, his brother Benji has played with the San Francisco Giants and his cousin Cy played with the Seattle Mariners.
