Not the Blue Peter guide to making a banner

If you've ever wanted to make a banner, but weren't sure how to then worry no more with Touchdown Claymores' handy Not the Blue Peter guide to making a banner.

What you need:

How to do it:

  1. Hang the sheet on the wall, making sure it's secure and doesn't sag in the middle. Make sure there is some protective paper or card behind the sheet so that the wall doesn't get marked in step 3.
  2. Project your design onto the sheet, make sure the design takes up a good proportion of the sheet.
  3. Draw round the outlines of your design in marker pen.
  4. Take the sheet down. You can leave the wall where it is, though.
  5. Find a large table and start painting - make sure it goes on thickly so it looks really professional.
  6. Leave to dry.
  7. Take 3 days off and iron the blasted thing, to stop the colours from running in the inevitable Scottish rain
